BANA President Jeff Whitby
Presents 14-Point Agenda
President Whitby stated he had two goals.
The first goal is to expand the BANA Neighborhood Watch, under the capable leadership of Joan Bachman, by having LRPD personnel help BANA recruit more block captains and encourage them to attend both the Neighborhood Watch Meetings and the Northwest Patrol Quarterly Neighborhood Meetings (the next NW Patrol meeting is scheduled for 6:30 PM, January 22, 2009).
The second goal is to get the sidewalk grant program underway in the BANA area by September, 2009, starting with the installation of sidewalks along Briarwood, Apache and Hiawatha.

Standing Committee Reports
Neighborhood Watch Coordinator Joan Bachman announced she hoped to make Briarwood residents more aware of the BANA Neighborhood Watch and, to that end, was planning to have more LRPD personnel at the neighborhood watch meetings. She said she hoped to have LRPD Chief Stuart Thomas address the Spring, 2009 BANA General Business Meeting on March 14, 2009. Bachman said she would also request BANA block captains attend the Northwest Patrol Quarterly Neighborhood meetings.
BANA Listserv Manager Betty Danley announced the formation of the listserv standing committee with Joy Freeman and Jim Bell as members. She said a procedure was being developed to handle listserv subscribers who repeatedly violated the BANA listserv rules (posted to the listserv on the first of every month). Danley said two warnings would be sent and, if a third offense occurred, the offender would be removed from the listserv.

The date for the Fifth Annual BANA Plant Swap (formerly known as the BANA Plant Exchange) will be 10:00 AM Saturday, April 18, 2009, in the parking lot at Brady Elementary School. The next BANA Board of Directors Meeting is scheduled for 6:00 PM, Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at the Brady Elementary School.
The First BANA Event in 2009
(and social get-together)
Will be a White Elephant Auction
At Grady's Pizza and Subs
Plans are afoot for a big social get-together and white elephant auction sale at a BANA White Elephant Auction Party to be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, the night of Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Grady's Pizza & Subs. There will be a $3.00 cover charge to pay for the free pizza.
Here's your chance to meet your neighbors and start the new year off on the right foot by donating your unwanted Christmas presents from Aunt Clara and others to your neighborhood association.
The unwanted gifts will be auctioned off at the party. Save $$$. Eat pizza. Join in the laughter. Profits (if any) will go to BANA.
