44 Attend BANA Fall Business Meeting
44 Briarwood residents attended the BANA fall business meeting at 9:00 am, Saturday, September 9, 2006 held in the fellowship hall of the Christ Lutheran Church at 315 South Hughes St. The meeting lasted a little over an hour, followed by a short get-together, with James Thomson, of those interested in the BANA Crime Watch.
Elections were held and four regular 3-year board positions were filled by Jim Bell, Deborah Meldahl, Martin and Janice Swint (as a couple) and James Thomson. In addition, Nonie San Pedro resigned her position as director and Jeff Whitby was elected to fill the unexpired year of her term:
Developer Shows and Explains New Plan for Fairhills Circle Lot
Rodney Chandler of Chandler Johnson Homes shows a revised plat drawing (the old plat had two duplexes on the lot) and explains the plan for building one duplex and a patio home on the last vacant lot in Fairhills Circle. They brought handouts to distribute after the meeting.
Nell Mock Speaks about Fairhills Circle
BANA Director Nell Matthews Mock speaks about the almost impossible parking situation on the steep road called Fairhills Circle and how she and the residents of Fairhills Circle would oppose building more than two patio homes on the last vacant lot. It was mentioned that the development would be discussed as Item #3 at the August 14th meeting of the Planning Commission.
Chandler Johnson Homes Announces a Change of Plans for Fairhills Circle
Just before the close of the meeting, the representatives of Chandler Johnson Homes announced they had canceled the plan for the duplex and patio home (as shown earlier in the meeting), and would build two patio homes instead, as approved by the planning commission several years ago. Their announcement was greeted with loud applause from the membership.
